Description

Springtails help keep your vivarium clean, meaning less time picking up after your animals.

These tiny insects live in the substrate of your vivarium and eat waste and mold while also digging tunnels to increase oxygen flow. That’s why we call Springtails “Tank Janitors”.

Springtails are low maintenance.

An added bonus – animals like to eat springtails. Dart frogs like to nibble on these guys as they walk past, making them a perfect snack.

They arrived safe and sound despite the March weather, well-packaged, and seemed quite active.

  1. They came exactly as expected. I’m very happy!

  3. The springtails looked healthy as well. Because of their tiny size it is impossible to say for sure how many dies, if any, but the ones I could see looked good.

  4. A unique species of springtail that stands out nicely in substrate.

  5. Very good

  6. It took a while for the springtails to become visible. After adding them to the enclosure, it took roughly a month of rarely seeing any before their numbers grew. I thought the isopods might have eaten them, but now there are lots. When they first arrived, I couldn’t see any in the cup, alive or dead, but they started to appear after warming it under the heat panel for a while.
