The ultimate micro-staple live food—perfectly bite-sized, highly active, and tailored for recent hatchlings and tiny insectivores.
Mini Mealworms (Tenebrio molitor) are an exceptional live feeder choice for fragile or exceptionally small exotic pets, measuring a tiny 0.12x” to 0.25″ in length. These micro-sized larvae provide a concentrated boost of essential proteins and healthy fats required for rapid juvenile growth. Their constant wriggling motion quickly catches the eye of tiny predators, while their soft juvenile bodies make them incredibly easy to swallow and digest.
  • Size: Micro bite-size range, averaging approximately 1/8″ to 1/4″ (3mm–6mm) in length.
  • Maximum Convenience: Can be stored in the refrigerator to induce dormancy, extending their shelf life for months with zero daily care.
  • Easy to Contain: Completely flightless, unable to jump, and cannot climb smooth plastic or glass feeding dishes.
  • Perfect For: Tiny hatchling geckos, poison dart frogs, button quail, micro-invertebrates, and small spiderlings (slings).

Description
Provide your smallest and most delicate pets with a premium nutritional foundation using our farm-fresh Mini Mealworms. Highly favored by professional breeders and hobbyists alike, these tiny larvae serve as the perfect alternative to fruit flies or pinhead crickets, delivering a balanced blend of protein and energy-dense lipids to support healthy initial growth spurts.
Easily Digestible for Fragile Hatchlings
A common concern when feeding younger reptiles or amphibians is the thickness of an insect’s exoskeleton. Because mini mealworms are harvested very early in their lifecycle, their chitinous shells are incredibly thin, soft, and flexible. This ensures high nutrient absorption and a safe, completely stress-free digestion process with zero risk of impaction for sensitive, newly hatched animals.
Why Choose Mini Mealworms?
  • Bite-Sized Nutrition: Their miniature profile makes them much safer for micro-enclosures and tiny mouths, completely eliminating any risk of choking.
  • Excellent Gut-Loading Vehicles: When brought to room temperature, these micro-larvae have a voracious appetite. You can easily feed them a premium diet of carrots, squash, and specialized grains right before feeding your pets to pass maximum vitamins directly to your animals.
  • Docile and Gentle: Mini mealworms are completely harmless and incapable of biting, scratching, or stressing out your fragile hatchlings.
💡 Storage & Care Instructions
To maximize the lifespan of your mini mealworms and keep them fully nutrient-dense, follow these simple husbandry steps:
  • Refrigeration Storage: Keep the mealworms in their original container with the provided organic bedding (such as fine wheat bran). Store them in your refrigerator’s crisper drawer or door shelves at a steady temperature between 4°C and 10°C.
  • Warming Up to Feed: Before feeding your pets, remove the desired number of worms from the fridge and allow them to sit at room temperature for 15–20 minutes to wake up and start crawling actively.
  • Weekly Maintenance: If storing them long-term, take the container out of the fridge once a week and leave it at room temperature for 24 hours. Place a small, thin slice of carrot inside for hydration. After 24 hours, remove any uneaten food and place the container back in the fridge.
  • Keep Dry: Moisture is fatal to mealworm bedding. Ensure the container remains completely dry and free of condensation to prevent mold or spoilage.

  1. One again. Amazing for someone who wants micro worms but I didn’t realize how tiny they actually were. I am waiting for them to grow bigger so I can find them in the container.

  2. Bugs travel a long ways to get to me and always arrive alive and packaged well.

  3. Worms are the perfect size. Arrived quickly. And I will order again.
    Thank you !

  4. Excellent quality, healthy & appropriate size!

  5. I have bought these in previous years and they were overall larger. I probably should have purchased small rather than mini as I expected more to be in the larger range of mini.
