Highly active, bite-sized, and easily digestible live feeders—the perfect high-protein meal for small reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates.
Small Superworms (Zophobas morio) are a premium choice for keepers looking for an energetic, engaging live feeder insect for smaller pets. Measuring approximately 0.5″ to 0.75″ in length, these young larvae offer excellent meat-to-shell value and have a much thinner, softer exoskeleton than standard mealworms. Their constant wriggling and active crawling behavior instantly catch the eye of small predators, making them an excellent choice for stimulating a strong hunting instinct.
  • Size: Ideal bite-size range, approximately 0.5″ to 0.75″ (13mm–19mm) in length.
  • Keeper Convenience: Incredibly hardy and will not pupate into beetles when kept together in bulk—no refrigeration required!
  • High Activity Level: Energetic scurrying movement strongly triggers the natural striking reflex of small pets.
  • Perfect For: Juvenile geckos, small chameleons, young bearded dragons, larger dart frogs, and small arachnids.

Description
Upgrade your small reptile’s feeding routine with our farm-fresh Small Superworms. Often confused with small mealworms, superworms are an entirely different species that grow naturally larger, have a much softer, more digestible exoskeleton, and offer a superior nutritional profile with a high meat-to-shell ratio.
Premium Nutrition & Physical Enrichment
Small superworms are an excellent source of essential proteins and healthy fats, making them a fantastic supplemental staple or high-value treat for young, growing animals. Because they are highly energetic and fast runners, they don’t just fill your pet’s stomach—they provide vital mental stimulation and physical exercise as your reptiles actively track and hunt them down.
Why Choose Superworms?
  • No Refrigeration Needed: Unlike mealworms, superworms are tropical insects and thrive at room temperature. They enter a state of suspended development when housed together, meaning they can stay in their larval worm stage for months without turning into beetles.

  • Easier to Digest: Despite their crunchy texture, superworms possess a thinner chitinous shell than mealworms, making them significantly easier for your growing or smaller pets to chew and digest safely.
  • Long-Lasting and Hardy: They are incredibly robust, experience very little mortality during storage, and require very basic care to keep fully gut-loaded.
💡 Storage & Care Instructions
To keep your small superworms healthy and nutrient-dense, follow these straightforward husbandry tips:
  • Housing: Transfer the superworms into a deep, well-ventilated plastic tote or container. Provide a few inches of organic bedding (such as wheat bran or oats) for them to burrow in, along with pieces of egg cartons for surface area.
  • Temperature: Always store them at a warm room temperature between 21°C and 27°C.
  • Crucial Warning: Never refrigerate superworms. Exposure to temperatures below 15°C will quickly paralyze and kill them.
  • Hydration & Gut-Loading: Provide moisture using fresh slices of carrots, potatoes, or squash. Avoid standing water dishes as they will drown. Feed them high-quality veggies and grain chow to fully gut-load them with nutrients before offering them to your pets.

  1. Unfortunately, the shipment was delayed. Which is of no fault to the company. They admirably refunded the cost.
