Premium, nutrient-dense live feeders packed with natural calcium for reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates.
Phoenix Worms (Black Soldier Fly Larvae) are a true powerhouse feeder insect, widely regarded as one of the healthiest choices for growing pets. They naturally contain the highest calcium content of any commercial feeder insect, boasting an optimal calcium-to-phosphorus ratio that promotes strong bone development and helps prevent Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD).
  • Available Sizes: Choose from Extra Small (approx. 1/8″), Small (approx. 1/4″), Medium (approx. 7/16″), or Large (approx. 3/4″) to perfectly fit your pet.
  • Ready to Serve: Naturally rich in calcium—no dusting or gut-loading required before feeding.
  • Worry-Free Handling: Clean, odorless, and completely flightless in their larval stage.
  • Perfect For: Bearded dragons, leopard geckos, chameleons, dart frogs, turtles, and fish.

Description
Give your pets a premium nutritional boost with our high-quality Phoenix Worms. These robust, wiggly grubs are an irresistible, high-value staple food that easily stimulates the natural hunting instincts of insectivores.
The Ultimate Calcium Solution
Unlike crickets or mealworms, Phoenix Worms do not require calcium powder dusting. They naturally possess a perfect calcium-to-phosphorus ratio (approx. 2:1). This makes them an excellent staple choice for juvenile reptiles experiencing rapid bone growth, breeding females looking to replenish calcium stores, and rescued animals recovering from nutritional deficiencies.
Find the Perfect Size for Your Pet:
  • Extra Small (1/8″ / 3mm): The ultimate micro-feeder. Perfect for tiny poison dart frogs, recent hatchling geckos, and small invertebrates.
  • Small (1/4″ / 6mm): Great for growing dart frogs, baby geckos, small anoles, and young chameleons.
  • Medium (7/16″ / 11mm): An excellent choice for juvenile bearded dragons, leopard geckos, crested geckos, and medium amphibians.
  • Large (3/4″ / 19mm): Plump and meat-heavy; ideal for adult bearded dragons, monitors, large skinks, and turtles.
Why Choose Phoenix Worms?
  • Highly Digestible: Their soft exoskeletons make them incredibly easy for pets to digest, reducing the risk of impaction.
  • Natural Antimicrobial Properties: Rich in lauric acid, Phoenix Worms help boost your pet’s immune system and support overall gut health.
  • Enticing Movement: Their active, vigorous wriggling motion quickly catches the eye of picky or stubborn eaters.
💡 Storage & Care Instructions
  • Keep the larvae in their shipping container with the provided packing media.
  • Store at a cool room temperature—ideally between 10°C and 15°C—to slow down their metabolism and maximize their lifespan.
  • Warning: Do not refrigerate them in standard household refrigerators, as temperatures below 10°C can be fatal.
  • Note: Over time, the larvae will naturally darken into a pupal stage. They are still highly nutritious and safe to feed out at this stage!

  1. Love these as they are calcium rich, some feeders are hard to dust, so these are awesome for my dragons diet.

  2. Full of calcium. For dem bones!

  3. The Phoenix worms arrived DEAD!!!

    • Very sorry to hear. Please email us directly along with your order number and we will replace them for you.

  4. I ordered a small counter for my jumping spider. They were fantastic. Lasted easily over a month and a half when kept in a cool place. Very active and wriggly which my spider loves. Great staple to keep on hand. Price is just fine for me. Will repurchase… going to try mediums.

  5. I ordered two large, one was small and one was large. Just feed the smaller ones and will be eaten last
